MGS4 的发生时间一直停留在20XX年。

然而，系列初作Metal Gear 的发生时间却由一直以来的[B]1995[/B]年，
在MGS4 制作开始后，被神秘的改做了[B]199X[/B]年。

考虑到小岛的次在后代MGS作品中，更改前代时间设定，
也许这次变动和MGS4 的发生时间有关系？
