Square-Enix全力打造的〃最终幻想VII 圣子降临》是采用尖端CG技术制作的DVD电影，这部电影参加了2004年秋意大利的“第61屃威尼斯国际电影节”。 并且获得了威尼斯国际电影节新设的“VeneziaDigitale”奖，该奖项主要是为目前不断增的的电影CG技术而设。
　　Square-Enix预计2005年夏在日本推出〃最终幻想VII 圣子降临》的DVD版，并且索尼获得了本片的PSP版独占权，并将与DVD版本同步七市。
