The year is 1970. On the San Hieroynmo Peninsula, off the central columbian coast, a mysterious new threat is about to be revealed... The place is La Peninsula De Los Muertos, a location whose exact topgraphy remains obscured from world maps due to it's strategic significance. A CIA special forces unit has stolen military secrets and seized the peninsula. They are members of Snake's former unit, FOX, and they employ their elite training to give overwhelming opposition. The Soviet Union, having withdrawn from its base in Cuba, planned to use the peninsula to construct a depot for intermediate-range missiles. However, Detente - the easing of international tensions - emerged at the end of the 1960s, and the compound was discarded. Abandoned by their country, many Soviet soldiers stayed behind. Why has FOX taken control of this peninsula? What secret project is being developed here? Will Snake escape and survive long enough to clear his name? The answers to these questions - and more - are shrouded in mystery. |
